About Us
Lessons and training are offered by Katherine Cooper and Christine Williams.  Katherine and Christine work regularly with other coaches and trainers to continue building their own skills as riders and instructors.  Katherine is also available to help you find a suitable horse or to sell your current mount through her extensive contacts.
Katherine Cooper
Katherine has been riding since the age of 8.  She started eventing as a 12 year old, participated in Pony Club and 4H for many years and had the opportunity to ride and clinic with excellent instructors as a child and teen.  Katherine took several years off from competing to attend college and law school and develop her skills as a trial lawyer.  But she managed to find a way to stay in the saddle at least once a week during those years.

Since returning to competion, she has been lucky to ride several lovely horses for other owners and has trained two of her own, Peach and Cleo, through the Preliminary level.  She is now bringing along a talented warmblood mare, Rosario and Grasp the Laurel, a green TB off the track.  She has trained regularly with Amy Barrington, Stephie Baer, Suzie Gornall, Molly Kenney and Anne-Marie Heilbron.  She has also cliniced with Lucinda Green, Phillip Dutton, Bruce Mandeville, Beth Perkins, Nick Taylor, Kerry Millikin and Coralie Baldrey.

As an instructor, Katherine incorporates classical theory with easy-to-understand instructions.  She enjoys teaching both children and adults and will work with riders to develop a program that will help them achieve their goals and safely improve their skills.  She has been a co-coach of the St. Thomas Aquinas Equestrian Team since 2012.

Katherine is involved in the administration of the sport of eventing.  She served for three years as the Area 1 USEA Chairman and is currently a member of the USEA Board of Governors, chair of its Legal Committee and the Fund for Equine Medical Research and she serves as a Trustee for the USEA Foundation.

Katherine is also a USEF licensed official as an "r" Technical Delegate and is available to judge at schooling shows and to serve as TD at sanctioned competitions.

Christine Williams
Christine has been riding since the age of 8.  She has been eventing for more than 25 years and has ridden through the Preliminary Level.  She has also competed to the Second Level in dressage.  As an instructor with more than 15 years of experience, she has helped dozens of clients work their way up to competing in eventing and dressage.  Her long-time partner, Billings First Chance is a favorite school horse!

Christine is also Certified Equine Sports Massage therapist and is available to work on your horses.

In her day job, Christine works as a mental health counselor for children and is currently pursuing her master's degree in mental health counseling.  She is also working towards certification as a licensed EFL counselor (equine facilitated learning) to help children with emotional and mental disorders.

Christine has also coached the St. Thomas Aquinas Equestrian Team since the 2011 season.
